Unless you’ve witnessed a Double Wing team in action, you’ll find some of the statistics hard to believe.

In 1994, Don Markham took a Bloomington High School team that had gone 1-9 in 1993, and posted a 14-0 record in route to a C.I.F. Championship. Coach Markham’s Bloomington High School team scored an unbelievable 880 points in 14 games. That’s an average of 62 points per game and set a national high school scoring record. Don Markham is considered by most to be the father of the Double Wing. He has enjoyed success running the Double Wing for over 35 years. He has won championships in California, Oregon, and in Europe.

The Double Wing has won championships at every age level from Pop Warner Mighty Mights through High School. You can watch clips of teams running the offense on our web site. We’ve tried to show you clips of different age groups. The Double Wing is simple in its design but virtually unstoppable when properly executed.

Our playbook gives you all you need to run the system. We diagram the “big four” plays complete with a table showing blocking assignments. We produced the playbook in PDF format (A free Adobe reader is available at Adobe’s website). We encourage you to make copies of all or any part of the playbook for your entire team. Your players will be able to study their positions and assignments at home.

Our playbook is designed for the new coach and the experienced coach. We diagram the four basic plays to the right and to the left against four of the most popular defenses out there (5-2, 5-3, 6-2, and 4-3).
